CAF Club Competitions draws suffers indefinite postponement
Africa's football governing body CAF has postponed the draws for its two elite club competitions for the 2022 season.
The announcement was made on Tuesday via the association's website, with the announcement for the new date set to be communicated.
CAF had announced on November 3rd that the draws will be conducted in Cairo, Egypt starting with the CAF Confederation Cup at 13h00 (11h00 GMT) and CAF Champions League at 14h00 (12h00 GMT).
"The CAF Interclub Group Stages draw for TotalEnergies CAF Champions League and TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup has been postponed.
"The draw was initially scheduled for Wednesday, 16 November 2022.
"A new date and time will be announced in due course," a statement from CAF's Website reads
While apologizing for "any inconvenience caused by the change, CAF did not state any reason for the change in plan.
Last season's NPFL champions, Rivers United are the only Nigerian team left in the Confederation Cup after the qualified for the Group stage following a 6-1 aggregate win against Al Akhdar on Lybia.
