Transfer rumours: Ighalo, Bale, Lamptey, Neymar, Brooks, Huntelaar

Updated: Jan 15, 2021

Nigeria forward Odion Ighalo, 31, is keen on a move to Major League Soccer in the United States. His loan spell at Manchester United from Chinese side Shanghai Shenhua expires at the end of this month.

Tottenham Hotspur are unlikely to extend 31-year-old Wales forward Gareth Bale's loan deal from Real Madrid for the 2021-22 season.

Brighton defender Tariq Lamptey, 21, is close to agreeing a new long-term contract with the Premier League club. German champions Bayern Munich are among the sides linked with the England Under-21 right-back.

RB Leipzig are not considering selling 22-year-old France centre-back Dayot Upamecano, even though he can leave in the summer for £37.4m. Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester United and Bayern Munich are among the teams interested.

Brazil forward Neymar, 28, is in talks to extend his contract at Paris St-Germain.

PSG have made Tottenham's England midfielder Dele Alli, 24, their top target this month and are hopeful of a loan deal.

However, Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is ready to block any deal for Alli so as not to leave the squad short during the second half of the season.

Manchester City's Spain defender Eric Garcia, 20, is set to sign a five-year contract with Barcelona.

West Ham United want a striker and have targeted Reims' Boulaye Dia, with the 24-year-old Senegal international available for £15m.

Aston Villa are interested in signing Bournemouth and Wales midfielder David Brooks, 23, in the January transfer window.
