Haaland joins Chelsea flop to accomplish an incredible feat

Erling Haaland has joined Chelsea flop Alexandre Pato as the only two players in Premier League history to win and penalty and convert it on their debut.

Lofty expectations were placed on the shoulders of the free-scoring Norwegian as he made his Prem debut on Sunday. And before the half-time whistle, Haaland showed off his electric speed to win a penalty against West Ham.

Manchester City's new talisman then dusted himself off and took the responsibility to convert from 12 yards. Alphonse Areola was left hapless as Haaland buried the ball into the corner - before he doubled his tally in the second period.

Only one other Premier League player has managed that feat: Chelsea flop Alexandre Pato.

When the Brazilian made his debut for the Blues in 2016 he did so by winning a penalty and then converting against Aston Villa. Pato's strike was sandwiched between Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Pedro's double as Chelsea ran out 4-0 winners.

It's safe to say that's as good as it got for Pato, whose largely forgettable spell at Stamford Bridge ended a couple of months later.
