Jrue Holiday leads Bucks to comeback Game 5 win vs. Celtics
The Milwaukee Bucks pulled off a stunning comeback to defeat the Boston Celtics 110-107 Wednesday in Boston and take a 3-2 lead in the second-round playoff series.
The Bucks, led by 40 points from Giannis Antetokounmpo, hit two huge 3-pointers with under 1:40 remaining in the game. Antetokounmpo, who was dealing with a cut dripping blood above his right eye, went 16-for-27 from the field with two 3s, and 6-of-10 from the free-throw line. Jrue Holiday added 24 points, including four 3s.
Antetokounmpo was fouled with 14.2 seconds remaining in the game and headed to the free-throw line down two points. He made his first and missed his second — but Bobby Portis grabbed the offensive rebound and made a field goal to take a 108-107 lead. After a Celtics timeout, Holiday got a huge block on a Marcus Smart layup to protect the lead, then grabbed the rebound.
Seconds later, with just one to go in the game, Holiday stole the ball from Smart to seal Milwaukee's win. The Bucks closed the game on an 11-2 run.
Jayson Tatum paced Boston with 34 points, going 12-for-29 from the field. Jaylen Brown added 26 points on 9-of-19 shooting, including three 3s. The Celtics led by at many as 14 points.
Game 6 will be held Friday night in Milwaukee.
