Lebron James, Kevin Durant to lead 2022 NBA All-Star Game starters

Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James is the captain and leading vote-getter in the Western Conference for the NBA All-Star Game on Feb. 20 in Cleveland, the league announced Thursday. James has made 18 consecutive All-Star Games.
Brooklyn's Kevin Durant is the East captain, leading the conference in voting. It's his 12th selection. Milwaukee's Giannis Antetokounmpo and Philadelphia's Joel Embiid round out the East frontcourt. It's Embiid's fifth selection and the sixth for Antetokounmpo. The East guards are Chicago's DeMar DeRozan and Atlanta's Trae Young. It's DeRozan's fifth selection, and his first since 2018 when he played for Toronto. It's Young's second selection.
Reigning league MVP, Denver center Nikola Jokic, and Golden State's Andrew Wiggins make up the West's frontcourt starters along with James. It's Jokic's fourth consecutive appearance and Wiggins' first time making the team. The West backcourt starters are Golden State's Stephen Curry, now an eight-time All-Star, and Memphis guard Ja Morant is in his first All-Star Game. Morant is just the second Grizzly to start in the game, joining Marc Gasol.
