Man United players are excited to work under Ten Hag — Dalot
Diogo Dalot has revealed his Manchester United team-mates are looking forward to working under incoming manager Erik ten Hag.
Ten Hag will take up the reins at Old Trafford on a permanent basis in the summer after Manchester United decided to appoint the Dutchman ahead of Mauricio Pochettino.
The 52-year-old looks set to win his third Dutch title with Ajax before his move to England as his side are four points clear of second-placed PSV Eindhoven with three games remaining.
Ralf Rangnick has managed United on a temporary basis since the start of December following Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's sacking in the winter.
And Dalot believes the clarity over the managerial situation is good for the club ahead of their final home game of the season on Monday night.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Dalot said: “I don't think you need to see a lot to know that he's a great manager. What he's done with Ajax is something outstanding.
“He plays very attractive football, I think every fan of United is excited to have a manager like this, and we as the players are as well.
“In our heads, it's going to be clear who the manager will be next season and that's good, because we go for our break... knowing who to expect. Then we'll have time in pre-season to work together, get our ideas right and start the new season.”
Dalot is hopeful his compatriot Cristiano Ronaldo, who has another year left to run on his contract with an option of another, will remain at Manchester United to lead Ten Hag's new era at the start of next season.
He added: “I don't have any more compliments to give about the way he works, he's a fantastic human being. The numbers are there, the stats are there, so we're happy to have him.”
Manchester United host Brentford in their final home game of the season on Monday night before travelling to Brighton and Crystal Palace to end their Premier League campaign.
Rangnick's men are in sixth spot.
