Moses scores in third consecutive game for Spartak Moscow
Former Super Eagles star Victor Moses scored a fantastic goal for Spartak Moscow in their exhibition game against Sochi on Sunday. The fabulous strike was voted as the best goal of the night as Moses’ start to life in Moscow continues on a bright note.
The Russian giants are currently involved in the Parimatch Premier Cup tournament which began on July 11 at the Otkritie Bank Arena and the former Chelsea man is already repaying the club for their confidence in him after completing a permanent move to the side.
The game ended 4-0 in favour of Spartak Moscow and it was Moses who wrapped up the scoring with the fourth goal in the 86th minute. Zelimkhan Bakaev and Reziuan Mirzov scored in the first half and Spartak went into the break with a comfortable lead.
Aleksandr Sobolev made it 3-0 in the second half before Moses, who had earlier scored in two previous games for the club, unleashed a strike from a long-range that beat the goalkeeper to make it 4-0.
A poll to decide the goal for the night was conducted by the club, and Moses’s long-range strike came out on top with 61.2%. Bakaev’s curler had just 15.1%. Sobolev’s goal gathered only 13.3% of the votes while Mirzov’s close-range goal earned him only 10.5%.
Moses has now scored in three consecutive pre-season matches for the club. The former Super Eagles man will hope that his strength and experience can help Spartak challenge for the League title next season.
