NBA Finals: Wiggins dazzles, helps Warriors take a 3-2 lead over Celtics after Game 5
State Warriors have moved closer to winning the 2022 NBA title and their seventh after Andrews Wiggins propelled them to a 104-94 win against Boston Celtics. Andrew Wiggins scored 26 points and grabbed 13 rebounds as the Warriors survived a third quarter push from the Celtics to emerge with the win. Klay Thompson added a further 21 points while Steph Curry who was on fire in the Game four missed all nine of his three-point attempts in the game. However, his dazzling drives and playmaking ability was still on display as he finished with eight assists while putting pressure on the defense. And as Thompson and Wiggins were busy having the game of their lives, Boston committed 18 turnovers and missed 10 free throws at the Chase Center. Poor shooting saw the Celtics trail by 12 at the half but they opened the third quarter on a 10-0 run, taking their first lead of the night at 58-55 via Al Horford's three-pointer. The momentum then swung back to the Warriors via Jordan Poole's bank shot from near half-court at the third quarter buzzer, and they put the game out of reach with an emphatic Wiggins dunk late in the fourth. This victory over the Boston Celtics have given them a 3-2 lead in the championship series and they could emerge champions should they win the Game Six on Thursday to claim their fourth title in eight years.
