NNL newcomers appoints new head coach ahead of new season


As the new Nigeria National League inches closer, newcomers, Kano Pillars have announced the appointment of former Warri Wolves coach, Evans Ogenyi as its new technical adviser.


Ogenyi stood out best among the 31 applicants that applied for the job as they seek to begin life in the Nigeria National League (NNL) and earn promotion back to the elite division at the end of the 2022/23 season.


Thejosephfaupkner.com understands that the Benue State-born coach was said to have bagged the job at the expense of a Mexican, two Ghanaians, one Ivorian, Togolese and nine other foreigners (whose identities were not made known) plus his Nigerian colleagues who made up the 31 applicants.


Ogenyi’s unveiling was said to be underway at the Kano State Sports Commission under the Acting Chairmanship of former Nigeria Football Federation President Dr Ibrahim Galadima.
