Serie A: Osimhen scores as Napoli records the biggest win of the season opener
Nigeria's Victor Osimhen opened this season's goal account on Monday in the Italian Serie A, after scoring Napoli's second goal away at Hellas Verona to help the Partenopei record the biggest win of the matchday one.
Napoli won by 5-2, and the Nigerian forward also made a back heel flick pass for Matteo Politano to net the Naples' fifth goal from twelve in the seven goal thriller.
Kevin Lasagna's cushioned volley had fired the hosts to an early lead shortly before the half hour mark, but Luciano Spaletti's men responded with intent when Kvicha Kvaratskhelia headed home Lozano's cross eight minutes later.
Napoli didn't look back after restoring pairity, and scored a similar goal to Verona's opener. This time, a corner was flickrf on by Giovanni Di Lorenzo for Osimhen to score with a flexible attempt at the far post
However, the highly interesting match didn't come without skirmishes as the Nigerian international angrily kicked the ball into the stands at the home fans who had been racially jeering every touch of the 23-year old during the match.
Osimhen, after scoring, also mocked the fans by pretending to cry into the camera as he celebrated his goal with his teammates and was subsequently replaced in the 83rd minute by Adam Ounas.
