Spain ready to play Sweden despite COVID fears
Luis Enrique’s Spain would have hoped for better preparations for their Euro 2020 campaign. Sergio Busquets tested positive for Covid-19 and their squad has been disarranged ahead of their opening game against Sweden.
Busquets’ leadership will undoubtedly be missed for Spain, but they still have a squad stacked with enough talent to see Sweden off. What’s more, the Spaniards will begin their campaign in Seville, so home advantage in this opener should allow them to get the win.
While Spain will be confident of doing enough without Busquets. Sweden may not be as confident without Zlatan Ibrahimovic. However, the attacking duo of Alexander Isak and Marcus Berg should strike fear in a Spanish defence without Sergio Ramos.
The Swedes have won their last five games and scored 14 in their last seven, including two away to France. They should have more than enough about them to challenge this Spanish defence but keeping them out at the other end could prove a little trickier.
