Super Eagles star Simy Nwankwo set to join Salernitana
Super Eagles star Simy Nwankwo is set to join the newly-promoted Serie A club Salernitana.
The 29-year-old was linked with a host of different clubs in Europe this summer after a record-breaking campaign, which saw him score 20 goals in the Italian top-flight for Crotone who was relegated from the Serie A.
The Garnets have now beaten other teams to the signing of the Nigerian international. They are expected to pay a fee in the region of six million euros for his services.
Simy Nwankwo is set to undergo his medical over the next few days in order to complete his summer transfer to the newly-promoted side who will aim to remain in the Serie A at the end of the new season.
Should the deal go through, He will become the second Nigerian international to sign for the team this summer, after Joel Obi. Simy joined Crotone in 2016 and leaves after 66 goals in 159 competitive appearances, making him the club’s all-time top scorer.
