Super Eagles striker, Simy completes move to Serie A club

Super Eagles striker Simy Nwankwo will play in the Italian top-flight after joining Unione Sportiva Salernitana 1919 from relegated Crotone.

The newly-promoted side signed the Nigerian striker on a loan deal with an obligation to buy for 6m euros next summer. The completion of this deal makes Simy Nwankwo the second Nigerian to join The Garnets this summer after they signed Joel Obi from Chievo Verona earlier.

Simy Nwankwo was one of the best strikers in Serie A last season scoring 20 Serie A goals. Broke. His feat ensured that he broke some and set new records for his side.

He will now hope to continue in the same vein for Salernitana, who are back in the Italian top-flight for the first time in 23 years.

Newly-promoted Salernitana beat off the likes of Real Mallorca and other Italian sides for the services of the 29-year-old and would hope that his goals would help keep them in the Serie A by the end of the season.
