UFC World Champion Kamaru Usman arrives in Nigeria
UFC world champion, Kamaru Usman, has arrived in Nigeria to meet his home-based fans and launch a social responsibility plan that will improve the life of Nigerians.
Usman was born in Auchi in Edo State, Nigeria. His father was a major in the Nigerian Army and his mother was a teacher. The martial artist grew up with his mother and two brothers in Benin City but struggled with the conditions in his environment during his childhood.
His father became a pharmacist in the United States, brought his family into the country when Usman was eight years old, immigrating to Dallas, Texas. The world champion has not come to Nigeria since then until now.
Kamaru Usman is the first-ever Nigerian-born undisputed UFC welterweight champion. He has an incredible record of fourteen straight wins; the longest ever holder of a win-streak in the Welterweight division,
He arrived in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory on June 10, 2021, and plans to stop at the commercial capital, Lagos before making it to his home state of Edo, where he will visit family and friends and initiate a community activation plan that involves making lives better for the Edo State people.
