World Cup: Fans deride Navas after howler in Costa Rica defeat
Costa Rican shot-stopper Keylor Navas wasn't up to his 2014 World Cup tricks against Spain on Wednesday afternoon - and fans joked that's why he doesn't start for PSG.
Football fans have joked "that's why you don't play for PSG" after Keylor Navas' poor performance gifted Spain two goals in Costa Rica's World Cup opener.
Spain played Costa Rica off the park as they netted three goals in their opening 30 minutes of the 2022 World Cup. And fans were quick to point the blame in the direction of Navas for the second and the fourth.
Jordi Alba flashed a ball across the penalty box, where Marco Asensio was able to flick the ball towards the goal. Navas wasn't strong enough to keep it out. Navas was also slammed for the fourth as he was caught in no man's land for Ferran Torres' second of the evening.
One fan tweeted: "Now I see why Navas is not playing at PSG. Wtf was that!"
"Navas should have forced his way out of PSG if they weren’t gonna give him minutes before the WC. He’s clearly rusty," a second added. While a third said: "Navas you should’ve saved that, see that’s why PSG doesn’t play you anymore!"

While a fourth joked: "I really thought my dog Keylor Navas would give us a legendary World Cup performance again… but man might be washed!"
Spain were eclectic in their opener, and quickly capitalised on Germany's embarrassment at the hands of Japan earlier in the day.
Navas' misery continued into the second half as the Spanish ran riot, eventually settling for a 7-0 win. Dani Olmo, Gavi, Carlos Soler and Alvaro Morata also got on the scoresheet in a dominant performance from the 2010 champions.
